Halloween is just a few weeks away which means it is time to get the pumpkins out, play pranks and serve up the best of Halloween foods. Here, we have a few of our favourite Halloween cocktails, so if you are the host of this year's Halloween get-together, don't forget to try these our and really surprise your guests.

Blood beetroot Cocktails

This blood-red lemonade and Prosecco combo is sure to be your new favourite spooky tipple

Ingredients

For the beetroot lemonade

200g raw beetroot. grated

juice 8 lemons

200g golden caster sugar

For the cocktail

300ml Aperol

ice

750ml prosecco, chilled

Method

First, make the beetroot lemonade. In a bowl, stir together the beetroot, lemon juice and sugar. Steep in the fridge for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Pour the mixture through a sieve into a large jug to get rid of the pulp.

To make the cocktail, pour 25ml of the beetroot lemonade into each glass, followed by 50ml of Aperol and a few ice cubes. Top with Prosecco and serve.

Mulled pear & cranberry punch

Hot pear cider, apple and cranberry juice plus sloe gin with cinnamon - you can't get a better winter cocktail than this

Ingredients

1l pear cinder

1 pear (or cloudy apple) juice

1cranberry juice

good handful fresh or dried cranberries

150ml slow gin

2 cinnamon sticks

2 vanilla pods, scored lengthways

Method

Put all the ingredients into your biggest saucepan or casserole dish. When you’re ready to serve, heat to just below simmering point, then ladle into glasses.
