Wedding Evening Snacks - Do you really need them?
When going through the meal details with our lovely couples who are getting married we sometimes get asked the question, "Do we need to provide evening snacks when our dinner is being served at 5.50pm?"
Truth be told, this is entirely up to the couple, themselves. There is a lot to think about, the guests that are drinking alcohol and feeling peckish, the guests that have younger children and want a snack before bed, the older guests who would love a cup of tea and something to nibble on.
If you don't want to go for a full spread buffet, here are a few options that you could consider.
1. Sausage/bacon baps
These go down a treat and let's face it, who doesn't like a sausage bap.
2. Pizza station
Go plain and simple. Cheese and ham with pepperoni are more than enough.
3. Asian Stir Fry Take Out Station
However, the noddle and spices can be a little messy. Watch out for the pretty dresses.
4. Milk and Cookies Bar
These will go down a treat if you are having kids at the wedding. The perfect finish before they head off to bed.
5. Chip cones
These are simple, mess-free and you can add fish, chicken or sausages. This is a real crowd pleaser.
6. Simple mini burgers
Perfect and simple to manage. Have a few options, plain and dressed, so guests can just grab and go.
7. Cheese boards
Set a few at each table and let guests help themselves. Add different types of bread and crackers and you are on to a winner.
There we have it, food for thought, excuse the punt. Don't forget to serve the wedding cake with the evening snacks. You will be surprised how many of your guests are waiting to taste it.
