The Best Canapés for Summer 2019

Arbutus Hospitality's favourite time of the year is almost here.....SUMMER!  Whether you’re planning on throwing parties of the barbecue or pool variety, here are quick canape ideas to welcome your guests in style and keep their hunger at bay and their tastebuds wanting more.

Avocado & Prawn Crostini

Smash some avocado. Add a sprinkling of lemon juice to keep it fresh. Toast slices of French baguette and add a splash of extra virgin olive oil. Spread the avocado onto the slices. Top with a prawn or two. Add a crack of sea salt and you have a simple, yet elegant.

Watermelon, Cured Ham and Feta Mini-Skewers

Here’s one of our many canape ideas to get their mouths watering. Dice some watermelon. Skewer with a cocktail stick. Add a cube of feta and a slice of cured ham. Crack a sprinkle of black pepper and add a sprig of mint for an hors-d’œuvre that is as satisfying as it is refreshing.

Mozzarella, Sun-Dried Tomato and Basil Bites

One for the vegetarians, this Italian favourite is extremely simple to make. Simple skewer a small mozzarella ball, sun-dried tomato and a basil leave on a cocktail stick and serve.

Courgette Curls with Salmon & Cream Cheese

Peel a courgette into curls with a potato peeler and roll around a scoop of cream cheese and some salmon. Skewer with a cocktail stick and serve. 

Parmesan Crisps with Chilli Dip

Grate parmesan finely and spread onto a sheet of greaseproof paper and bake until a sheet of parmesan cheese is formed. Cut individual crisps with a cookie cutter and bake until crispy. Serve with a chilli dip.
