Gin! Who doesn’t love gin? It’s the perfect beverage to enjoy on a night out with friends or simply just to sip on, on a summers evening. Gin has become increasingly popular over the last few years with many venues having a designated bar/area just for gin, which is perfect for tasting a range of different flavours and combinations.
There are so many ways to enjoy your gin and here we have a few ideas below, and also simple, quick versions if you need a gin in a hurry.
Earl Grey Gin & Tonic
Add four good-quality Earl Grey tea bags to a bottle of gin. Let it steep at room temperature for at least two hours – then mix with tonic.
Or, the quick version: Gin, a splash of cold Earl Grey tea, tonic or soda to taste,
Chamomile gin
Gin plus dried chamomile flowers, honey and lemon juice
Or, the quick version: Add gin to a little cold chamomile tea
Long Island Iced Tea
Equal parts gin, rum tequila, vodka and triple sec, plus Coke, lemon juice and gomme syrup.
Or, the quick version: Gin, Coke, and anything else you’ve got lying around.
Lavender Lady
Gin, lavender syrup, elderflower cordial, lemon juice
Or, the quick version: Stick a packet of Parma Violets in your gin
Grapefruit Gin Fizz
Gin with tonic water, grapefruit juice, angostura bitters and a teaspoon of chopped basil to garnish.
Or, the quick version: Add a splash of grapefruit juice to your G&T.
Winter Sour
Gin, Campari, honey, lemon juice, sprig of rosemary
Or, the quick version: Gin and Fruit Twist-flavour Fanta. Sprig of something green if you’re feeling posh, but it’s by no means essential.
