As the days start to get shorter and the heat of summer is behind us, there’s no doubt that the seasons are changing.
Autumn is almost here and it’s the time of year when we can enjoy hearty, warming food and the very best produce that the harvest has to offer. If you’re getting married in autumn, then we have some mouth-watering seasonal suggestions for your wedding food.
The perfect autumn wedding menu starts right here at Arbutus Hospitality …
After your ceremony, start the celebrations with canapés that really showcase the best of the season. We would suggest bitesize delights that are easy to eat and even easier to enjoy! How about crispy risotto balls with woodland mushrooms, truffles and roast baby leeks or spiced lentil tarts with chicken, smoked paprika, coriander yoghurt and friend onions? Perfect for keeping guests warm if you’re outside for photos and giving them a hint of what’s to come!
From there, let’s move on to your main course and there are so many wonderful dishes to tickle those taste buds. Will you choose roast free-range chicken with girolle mousse, fondant potato, shallot puree and white beans with madeira and thyme jus or perhaps roast duck two ways would tempt you? A crisp confit leg with panko crumb and finely sliced breast with juniper served with red cabbage, salsify and roasted shallot and a redcurrant spiced orange jus. Or vegetarian and vegan options offer just as much comfort and we love our roast baby pumpkins with spiced red lentils, spinach, coriander and coconut sambal.
We always recommend finishing with a memorable dessert and our autumn menus are full of old school favourites and classic dishes. If you can’t decide on one dessert, why not opt for a trio of them? Include panna cotta with a white chocolate and raspberry ganache, treacle tart with salted caramel ice cream and a dark chocolate torte and you’ll have the happiest wedding guests around!
